Looks I Loved This Weekend: The Formal Edition
Just because I posted on the looks I loved this weekend - the casual edition - doesn't mean I don't want to also look at the formal looks. I mean, look at this lot. There is Gemma Arterton in Stella McCartney - note the peplum ladies, very flattering. And Taylor Swift and her new bangs in red Oscar de la Renta. Just feast your eyes on Anne Hathaway's dress. It is by Giambattista Valli and paired with Jimmy Choos. Congrats to her on her recent engagement. And then that Elizabeth Olsen. Look, let's be honest, it is not her finest look. And she is not in this group because she has put an awesome frock on. She has a look I loved this weekend because she is the great smiling Olsen. And I love the turquoise shoes.
Looks I Loved This Weekend: The Casual Edition
I know you guys like to see what the celebs wear 'off-duty'. It is far more likely that we are going to emulate their day-time style since we (and I speak for myself here) seldom attend red carpet functions. So let's take a look at what we have here from the weekend. The lovely Glee star Dianna Agron wore the most darling pleated maxi skirt in nude shades with a whiet shirt. Simple, clean and elegant. I love this look. And Gwen Stefani was her usual self - mixing it up with a polka dot jumper and layers of black. And then there was Jessica Alba rocking out in the red jeans. Perfectly combined with a white v-neck tee and blazer. Super love this look. It was my favourite. Which was yours?

The Trevor Project’s 2011 Best Dressed: Amber Heard and Friends
I am a huge fan of the work of the Trevor Project. And they had their big fund raiser in LA on Sunday night. For me, the best dressed was - by miles - Amber Heard. She was wearing a white dress by Alessandra Rich with lace back detail. And a belt. Loved.
Also looking great in monochrome were Julie Bowen from Modern Family in black leather. Also Julianne Hough in beaded white and Dianna Agron in a LBD with cute halter neck clasp detail and the lovely Jayma Mays in grey with lace sleeve insets.

But it wasn't all so black and white. Christina Hendricks looked super in her burgundy skirt and spangle cardigan. Zoe Saldana made us all lust ofter her Rena Lange patterned tunic. Rashida Jones looked as cute as ever in purple print and LeAnn Rimes wore a very bold green cape dress that actually looked rather nice. I surprise even myself by saying that.
But flying the flag for best dressed stays with Amber Heard. What do you think?
Michelle Obama in Vera Wang
The First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS), Michelle Obama, often makes style statements that resonate. She has easily been the most stylish first lady ever, and in a way that is often super accessible too. But nothing has caused a ruckus quite like the STUNNING electric blue Vera Wang dress that she wore to the Kennedy Centre Honors on Sunday night. I mean, just look at it.
Mrs O has long been a fan of a specific set of emerging US designers. She wore Vera Wang, a very established designer, for the first time in Hawaii last month. And looked amazing. So she must have decided to give her another go. What a win. Met with universal approval, if Barack can't get his approval rating up, maybe Michelle can give him a hand, dressed like this. Yay.

Louis Vuitton Maison Opening, Sydney
These Syndey women are on another level of stylish. Attending the opening of the Sydney Louis Vuitton Maison, were the magnificent Cate Blanchette in the label's latest collection (this is only the second time we have seen it on the red carpet, after SJP last week), Delta Goodrem and Isabel Lucas, dressed appropriately and the glorious Miranda Kerr. I single her out because she turned up, without a care in the world, looking exquisitely beautiful in a LV dress from two seasons ago. Literally a year old. Seriously, who does that? Well, they should, because she looks wonderful. So pretty. So timeless. So lovely. And very signature Louis Vuitton. Loves it.
Emily Blunt Style Tour de Force
Seriously. This weekend, actress Emily Blunt pulled out all the style stops. And colour me wowed. Totally wowed. May I just start by saying I super-love the new sleek bob. Awesomeness. And that husband of hers, John Krazinski, is some kind of lovely too. But it all started with that Tom Ford suit. Stunning, right? And then off to Washington to attend President Obama's 2011 Kennedy Centre Honors dinner and ball. To which she wore fuschia. Twice. Oh my good golly. Look at that twisted neckline. And the peplum ruffle. I die. Stunning.

Burberry Paris Party: Alexa Chung, Lou Doillon, Anja Rubik
We spoke briefly last week about Rosie Huntington Whiteley's appearance at the Paris store opening of Burberry, which was held at the British Embassy in the french capital. Well, also in attendance and looking amazing were Alexa Chung - in a shrunken trench and sheer skirt, split to the thigh - Lou Doillon - in a classic Burberry trench with this season's orange trim - and model Anja Rubik - in some leather leggings and a faux fur coat. And check out that yellow bag. Seriously. I would give up...um...quite a lot really...for any of these outfits. I would.
